TECHNIKA MAKE Carbon steel & stainless steel Split type swivel joint are developed
specifically for heavy load bearing applications. There are two ball races in this swivel joint.
These heavy duty swivel joints are available in 1”NB to 12”NB size with ANSI flanged or
butt weld ends. Main seal is PTFE and other seal is viton ‘O' rings.
Deep ball grooves with wide spacing and with heavy duty construction, provides significantly
greater load carrying capacity are needed in extended reach loading arms and other high load
applications.
Female and male section are locked together by two rows of ball races bearings. Ball races are
machined to precise tolarance. This design assures proper alignment under heavy redial load. Product
can not enter the ball bearing beacause of the protective male first sealing ring and other second
seal keeps dust, water and other contaminants out. Both seals hold lubricant inside the swivel joint.
ADVANTAGES OF SPLIT TYPE DESIGN OF SWIVEL JOINTS
SPLIT TYPE DESIGN of Swivel Joints has following mentioned major advantages,
over Non Split type design of swivel joints.
1. This design allowes changing of the Sealing rings, without removing balls of
Swivel Joints.
2. Changing of the Sealing ring can be done by people at site, as it do not require any special skill or tools.
3. Swivel Joint assembly can be attend at site only & it is not requried to take it to work shop, hence manpower requried for maintainance is reduced.
4. Hence down time for the same is reduced to a large extent.
5. It also reduces flange conection in the assembly, as it also works as flanged connection. This also reduces weight of the entire assembly.
